The builder Augustin Třeček ran his own building office in Třešť. Although he called himself "Architect Aug. Třeček, builder in Třešt'”, he lacked a university education and thus an engineering degree. He was educated in civil engineering at the Secondary Technical School of Construction (Střední průmyslová škola stavební) in Brno, from which he graduated in 1917. Augustin Třeček mainly designed buildings in the Třešt' and Jihlava areas and was a builder of regional importance. His most significant project in Jihlava is Jan Hortenský's house on Jiráskova Street from the first half of the 1930s.

Augustin Třeček's biographical details are unclear. He was probably born in Třešť, but the record in the civil registry is incomplete. However, he was closely tied to the town throughout his life. In 1933, he became one of the founders of the Museum Association (Muzejní spolek) in Třešť. He was also an official for the local Sokol organisation. Together with other members of the Gymnastic Union (Tělovýchovná jednota), he was persecuted during the Second World War for his membership and the anti-occupation attitudes associated with it, and was supposedly detained and transported to a concentration camp. Although the year of Augustin Třeček's death is unknown, he survived the Second World War and continued to live in Třešť.
